Problems with the Mac OS X version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

I've been spending a lot of time trying to get fixed my XAMPP server since OSX 10.10 DP5 (beta) broke a few elements of its library. Fortunately, a friend could solve this problem.
here you have a mini-tutorial.

This doesn't work for me. I can't even get past the step of 'brew install libiconv'. I get this error:
Error: No available formula for libiconv
Apple distributes libiconv with OS X, you can find it in /usr/lib.
Some build scripts fail to detect it correctly, please check existing
formulae for solutions.
Thoughts?

You need to allow homebrew to install duplicates of system software:
In terminal before you install type: brew tap homebrew/dupes
I've updated the guide that Seus posted here

A few things..
1) It worked! Thanks!!
2) Some of the dashes on your web site are a longer dash than normal. Consider wrapping snippets in <pre></pre> tags.
3) How in the world did you figure this out? Is there a log file I should have been looking at?

Hi,
New XAMPP versions already fixes the issue for MySQL so you can download a new version. In any case you can fix the previous installations following these steps:
Edit the file /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/xampp
Search for:
$XAMPP_ROOT/bin/mysql.server start > /dev/null &
and add the following on top of it.
unset DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH
Then you can start your MySQL database again

The tutorial at http://exequielplaza.com/funstuff/xampp-dp5-yosemite-mysqlfix.html
is outdated. The terminal command as of Feb 17, 2015 is: ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)"
