I am not an expert with Apache or Tomcat. My point with only changing one was, instead of going through the work of changing the ports of two servers then editing a bunch of other configuration files and webpages to accommodate those changes, it might have been easier to just change Apache and leave Tomcat with 8080.
The required changes to get that link you want to work does not appear to be a simple edit in one of the webpages. How that link works is that it is an Apache proxy (/xampp/apache/conf/extra/httpd-ajp.conf) that redirects to an AJP connection with Tomcat (Port 8009 by default). Tomcat has two connectors configured by default. There is an HTTP connector that listens on 8080 by default and an AJP connector that listens on 8009 by default. I am not familiar with the AJP protocol so I cannot speak to what it is doing behind the scenes. You may be able to modify the Proxy entry and Tomcat's configuration to something like this:
http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-7.0-doc ... howto.html I have not tried it so I cannot speak to if that will work for you.
