my computer main board got damaged

I had developped on the xampp-vm a database and some php files. the old computer was a mac osx with sierra operation system. I had to replace it with a renewed one with catalina OS. I am not able to migrate the data as well as my developed software in php. I have still the HD that is now an external one for my new computer. Is there a way not to loose all my work?
