MySQL fail after start

Had the same problem with older version. One day it just started acting up. Uninstalled then installed XAMPP to 7.4.4. All DBs lost. Worked for a bit (had not even recovered all DBs) then started having the same problem again. Already tried a bunch of stuff I found online:
- Run wiith admin rights
- Changed ports
- Looked for mysqld.exe in task manager processes (missing)
- Stop mysql service (also missing)
