making new user beside root

Postby guitarfugu » 26. March 2007 20:06

Hi,

i'm a completaly novice in using xampp, downloaded it this weekend.

i wondered if it is possible to have another username with his own password, beside the superuser "root" in xampp to access the Msql database?

I've got a badly written existing website to repair, and want it tested localy on my pc. All php's are using a own username+password to access to the Mysql database.
It will take me days to addapt every php and change the existing username+password to the "root" user.

So it would be easieser if i could create a second username + pass
to access the Mysql database.

Any help how to do this, is more than welcome and much appriciated :D

1.) You mean MySQL?
2.) If yes: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/ ... users.html
