mod_authnz_ldap

Is anyone else having any luck getting mod_authnz_ldap to work?

I'm accessing an OpenLDAP2.2.23 repository, and I keep getting the error:
[ldap_search_ext_s() for user failed][Protocol Error]


From what I've been able to piece together via Google searches, I'm guessing that this has something to do with the way that this module is built, and the various SDKs that are available at compile time. It would seem that the version in XAMMP was possibly missing one of the SDKs when it was built?

Is anyone using the mod_authnz_ldap library successfully?

Does anyone have a more up-to-date version of mod_authnz_ldap.so. I freaking hate building apache modules for Windows, so any help would be much appreciated.
