XAMPP - No MySQL Root Password?

Postby JAB Creations » 07. March 2007 04:14

How do I set a root password?

When it says root is this password the same for all databases?

If I remove the pre-existing databases that XAMPP installed will it effect any of the pages linked directly off the XAMPP local homepage?

XAMPP is really good at telling me, "Hey, this part of me is not secure!" It's not good at telling me how to secure it. Those ports are all blocked on the router anyway though. I've tried setting the password in the PHPMyAdmin config file though it screws up the MySQL connection. Even when I DID have a password set by attempting a DOS fix?! I could find no documentation on how to access the PHPMyAdmin ANYWAY because all it kept saying was I needed a password but no option to enter a password!
