This is what I see in the Windows 2000 Server event viewer.

That's the system log. What can you read in the application log?

Then your problem is solved?

BTW: The above message is no error, it's a notice...

No, I am still getting this problem:

I cannot seem to install the Apache service properly. I tried the edited batch file you mentioned and also the tried using the "Svc" option in the XAMPP Control Panel. The one in the control panel does not give me any error but when I restart, Apache is not started by default. I have to manually click on "Start" to make it work.

I think I will just put the apache start batch file as a shorcut in my Startup folder to fix this. Just a note, XAMMP 1.6.0 was worse. MySQL could not startup automatically. XAMMP 1.6.0a fixed the MySQL problem but the Apache service seems a bit buggy.

Hmmm, I've not told you to edit a batch file...

Well, if this is ok for you...

The edit batch files I was referring to was from KillerFrog's post:

http://community.apachefriends.org/f/viewtopi ... 6893#96893

You told me to run them remember?

Hi,

Mabye I understand why you are having this bug. That would be in the order of the process :

1. Make sure the service is at uninstalled state (using the old uninstall script)
2. Make change to .bat file as I've suggested
3. Start the service
4. Try to stop it just to be sure both script works.

If they do, I will add this info to my post to be more specific.

I hope this will help !

P.S. I'm not a programmer, and on this post I have put what I found usefull for solving my own problem ! Keep me updated
