XAMPP on Pocket PC

I know ther eis a topic for this question on the German Speaking side of the house but I couldn't make much out of it using translators and I think the guys needs were different from my project so I'll ask here.


Is loading XAMPP on a Pocket PC (Specifically a Compaq iPaq) possible.

At first attempt I got an error because Pocket PC apps are not necessairly complied the same way as Windows apps. If this means it is a matter of building a new compiler I believe I could do that with guidance. I'm not a server person at all though so I have no idea what changes this would include.

My motives, are fairly simple. I'm working on a mobile eLearning solution. To date, we have a USB thumbdrive running XAMPP and Moodle that does a really nice job and runs at blistering speed. Another avenue we want to explore is dropping the same system onto an SD card and launching it in Pocket PC.

We really like the XAMPP Lite package and it has worked wonderfully for what we want so we'd love to stick withit if possible, however, if there is no way to launch it for pocket PC does anyone know of a product built specifically for the platform?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.


PS. Changing the PDA's OS is not an option.

I don't think this is possible because of the PDA's OS and CPU.

Using a Smart Card is just recognised as another drive so it is still OS and CPU dependant.

I did spot this link re an alternative of having an Apache server on a Compaq iPaq which might be closer to your goal:
