MTA (Mail Transfer Agent)

Postby Dave_L » 30. September 2006 01:42

I need an MTA (Mail Transfer Agent) for two reasons:

1) I develop web applications using XAMPP. Some of the web applications have email functions, such as a forum script that sends email notifications for replies to posts. I need to be able to read emails sent to, for example, root@localhost.

2) I want to be able to read emails sent by various Linux applications, such as cron output.

I've been using Exim4 on MEPIS 3.3.1., but that was a bit messy to set up. I'm upgrading to MEPIS 6.0, and thought I'd try to find an MTA that's easier to set up.

Are there any MTA's that are easier than Exim4 to set up?

There is also a small list on this site:
