Pretty annoying problem..

Problems with the Windows version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

Pretty annoying problem..

Postby jamson » 09. August 2006 08:23

Hi,

I have installed xampp on my computer and want to host music and images on it, but for some extremely odd reason when it downloads the music and you go to play the song, it plays the first 5 seconds of the music then repeats itself for the rest of the song.

With the images, it loads the first quarter of it then the rest is black..

Can someone help me out please? I am in desperate need of assistance..

Can you give a link to your site so it can be tested?

It may be possible then to establish what you are trying to tell us.

Clues are a bit thin and the more clues that are available to work with the quicker the problem can be isolated and a possible resolution established.

Not sure yet but this sounds like an inadequate browser cache size.

Have you tried clearing out your cache then allowing more space for the cache?

If it set too low it will fill up and either refuse more data to be stored or it will start deleteing the previous files to make room.

I won't be able to show you a link since my router seems to block that sort of stuff. (its a network site type of thing)

I've tried with three different computers, all different browsers and they all do the same thing and pause at the same time.. it's not a file error since i can play it straight through the host pc with no problems!

Try changing the directive "EnableSendfile" in the Apache config file.

Do all the computers and browser attempts go through the same router?

Well, when i try and play a song through the browser on the host computer, it pauses at the same time as the other computers, so thats why i am guessing its XAMPP.

My last suggestion is:
Add "Win32DisableAcceptEx" to the config file.

As the last entry wiil do.
Don't forget to comment it out (use # at the start of the line) if it does not fix your issue.
