The mail is generated by phpbb, with squid (were the phpbb where before) it works fine and i think that with another smtp server should work ok (i dont see any complain in the phpbb forum about that), so i think that this is a mercury error.
(I just send one of the error mails by hand and it woks ok),
what can be the problem? i know that the errors are 501, but dont know how to fix them :S
thanks again

So we have to be mind readers and work out for ourselves how you have configured phpBB and Mercury?

Try using the same settings that you have in your email client in phpBB and mercury mail with regard to the SMTP side as that configuration obviously works. At a guess you are using your ISP's smtp server in your email client. Well use it in the other configurations or at least try. It won't fix it self.

Use another mail server if you can't work it out using Mercury.

Which is the preferred mail server that should be included in the XAMPP suite according to a recent poll conducted on this forum.

But like an effective set of documentation and help files to make life easier for XAMPP users, it has been ignored by the developers.

Like all things in this life "you only get what you pay for", and this suite is free, so don't expect too much from XAMPP.

If it's only affecting mail to Yahoo, it's not at your end. They're rejecting it, most likely, possibly because they think you're on a dynamic IP address. Are you certain the error code is 501?

Your welcome and thanks for posting back with your comments. They will undoubtedly help others who are having difficulty with configuring Mercury Mail and who require a much quicker and more friendly solution.
