LDAP over SSL and XAMPP

Are the OpenLDAP and PHP configurations included in XAMPP compiled for LDAP over SSL (port 636) support?

If they are not any advice on getting these up and running would be appreciated. I need to provide several web services that will require e-directory authentication over LDAP.
