How to secure XAMMP demo page

Postby B06D4N » 27. May 2006 12:07

Hello,

I installed xampp-win32-1.5.3-beta5 and after that I am going to http://localhost/security/index.php and click to http://localhost/security/xamppsecurity.php

At XAMPP DIRECTORY PROTECTION (.htaccess) I put my user and password and after that Make safe the XAMPP directory

After that when I try to enter again in localhost and put my user and password doesn’t work and don’t let me to enter in xampp.

There is other method to change password for directory protection?

yes, you can manually make a .htaccess file and put it in your webroot (in the directory you want to secure). As you have probably mistyped your password when you created the file you can also manually REMOVE the file from the webroot, this wil clear the security restrictions. There are plenty howto's on the web that deal with .htaccess, try google :)
