Windows won't let me delete XAMPP 1.5.1

Postby CPcoder » 15. March 2006 05:34

It keeps telling me "Cannot delete xampp. The disk is full or write-protected."

The XAMPP files are marked "read-only" in the Properties dialog. If I uncheck the "read-only" box and tell it to apply the change to all files and folders in this directory, it doesn't save the change!

I am the owner/administator and am logged in with all access to everything, including hidden and system files and folders. That is not the problem. Of course there is no uninstall because XAMPP makes no Windows Registry entries.

Everyone else has solved their problems by going back to XAMPP 1.4.whatever. Can I simply download and unzip the old version and will it overwrite everything in the new version? Can I depend on it?

Does no one have the answer on how to get rid of the new XAMPP?

I really want to stick with XAMPP, it is a great project, otherwise I have to try setting up everything seperately.
