how can we easily administer xampp??
because, drilling down the conf files is very frustrating...

can you make a web administration like sambar.com does??

because, this is windows.
in windows, you should make it as easy as possible.
also, isnt xampp about make things easy for us...

if i want the trouble messing with all the conf files,
i'd use linux and install everything my own

Hi,
I'm not quite sure what you mean.
XAMPP is a ready to run System.
What do you need to configure?
Yes it is right, that it is windows! But Apache was never designed to be run on Windows! Also this is a non-Profit Project! I do not think that people will react to such questions, nor will they fell under presure to create a Webconfig. We and specialy Kai&Kay do this in their free time!
I think you should resepect what they have done so far. Apachefriends is only 1 year old! and I think that they/we have achived enough!
And critic as you are gining here is not right! So please just give in!
Use Linux if you like! With Linux it is actually even easier -> Webmin!
So that was it for now...

You could do it for all of us!

Postby chanio » 28. June 2003 16:43

If you can imagine it, no doubt that you can make it. Do you PHP?
You could start with some little thing. Only one at a time. 4 example, a script that could read only one log file, and show it with an excel spreadsheet. This is the moment where you are going to start loving this server, so well configured.
Once you have this script running Ok, it is time to generalize its work to other log files (just change the variable name, and perhaps the column names).
This is just a starting point. A small begining. But, even if you spend a year to finish all what you imagine, it would be very useful for all of us!
No big goals, just small steps, but constant steps, one after the other.
That is the first step for enjoying programing. There is no big secret! Just starting.
Please, keep us informed of your progress!

Hi,

I'd say since you know how to do all this, you are welcome to do so!
Please just don't ensist on something to be done.
If you know what you want, then do it!
If you think others can profit of it, give it to us.

As you said step by Step.
Kai is working on Apachtischini or something like that.
So please either do it your self, or you'll just have to wait!
