Error Accessing Web-Site from outsite of LAN

Postby sh0r713u5 » 18. February 2006 20:49

I know this has been posted many times before, but I have not seen anything that has helped me yet, so I decided to purge and post. I have a web-site up, people are able to access it from out-side of our lan. But... they have to access it by using https:// not able to from http:// Is there a way I can change the port number on this so that instead of http:// using 80, i can make it use a different port number to see if it's probably just blocked from my ISP provider? Thank-You!

There's no EDIT: option. blah.... OK, so I changed my port number to 8888 on the site, and now am able to connect to the site outside of the lan if I add IP:8888 instead of just IP. Is there a way of being able to rid that :8888? or does it have to stay?

Another question, is there a way to rid of the security ticket when someone connects to the server via https://? I wouldn't mind using https:// if there was no security ticket. Everyone keeps thinking it's a virus or something.

No.

Buy an official SSL certificate.

Thank you very much for the help. Now, I have one more question. Where I had changed the port # to 8888, from now on when I set something up and it has to be pointint to localhost, do I have to add localhost:8888 or can I just leave it localhost?
