XAMPP 1.5.1 and Python

There seems to be no definative link to where I can get a python addon that works on Windows XAMPP 1.5.1, can anyone help out?

I tried a .zip version of python for XAMPP, but whenever I try to run apache, I get:

Apache 2 is starting with PYTHONHOME=C:\Program Files\xampp\python
apache.exe: Syntax error on line 522 of C:/Program Files/xampp/apache/conf/httpd
.conf: Syntax error on line 2 of C:/Program Files/xampp/apache/conf/extra/python
.conf: Cannot load C:/Program Files/xampp/python/mod_python.so into server: The
specified procedure could not be found.

.so files are usually linux only, so not sure if that is the problem or something else is...
