a new headache

:? hi, in a previous thread i explaind my xampp had somehow found it's way to c:/documents and settings / all users/ ect NOT C:/xampp where i put it and still had a copy of it there. so, i was told to save http docs folder, do not uninstal mysql to save my database entries and uninstal xampp and reinstal with current version. i did that replaced the http docs folder with the new 1 and phpadmin shows mysql databases i set up. YET, im directed to xampp/splash.php, or my 404 error page .
as far as i know everything except the new instal is the same, meaning my previous config set up's. it DID fix the problem with it being in my documents folder, now when i click explore from xampp control panel it leads me to c:/xampp  but, what else am i doing wrong, any ideas :?: :?: more info needed? just let me know...

visit http://www.worlddrknss.blogdns.org and watch the tutorial on virtualhost, and pay particular to the httpd.conf configuration.
