Can't connect to mysql

I'm trying to install a cms, and I can't seem to connect to my mysql database. I have supplied the correct username and password, but I get access denied.

I Think you must login to your online account first. Where will you install the CMS? online or on your localhost???

This is all being installed on a localhost. I'm not working with a web host. I'm sure I'll figure something out soon. Thanks!

Can you tell me which CMS you want to install.

I was installing Xoops and Typo3. I figured out the answer to my question. I had setup a username for the database, but I found out I need to use the username "root" instead of the one I setup. Sorta strange, but whatever works!!!
