status.php does not work remotely

I installed the software and rebooted, I restarted and everything worked from my internal network..

I went externally, and everything works but the status.php link which just takes forever then just times out!

This works from the internal network and I am behind a firewall, with port 80 being redirected to the box running the latest ubuntu 5.10 and lampp 1.4.16...
