Cannot start ProFTPD

Hi,

Just downloaded and installed XAMPP Solaris 0.6 on a Solaris 8 (SunBlade 100)

When I start XAMPP I get a fatal error message when starting ProFTPD:

"ld.so.1: /opt/xampp/sbin/proftpd: fatal: libmysqlclient.so.12: open failed: No such file or directory"

"Error 127! Couln't start ProFTPD!"

XAMPP Solaris 0.3 was working fine

Any thoughts?

I would check your LD_LIBRARY_PATH to make sure the library is in your path

I have changed my installation location rather than keeping the default /opt/xampp. When I do try to start the daemon (after monkeying
with the LD_LIBRARY_PATH, which it complained about the libmysqlclient.so.12 - this wasn't even on the system, all I did is linked it to libmysqlclient.so.14.0.0) it cannot find the configuration files. It still searches in the /opt/xampp directory. Does anyone have any clues or do I have to reinstall & configure proftpd?

I have that library file with the lib's that come with the companion CD. I think they are part of the GCC libraries.

I made a symbolic link from it to there.

I guess I could have changed the LD_LIBRARY_PATH instead.

I have not changed the default path of things, but instead setup a symbolic link for them as well. This left everything where the install scripts want them but allows me to work where I normally work.

For me... /www is the root tree of everything so that

/www = link to /opt/xampp

However, you might want to look at the following script which originally was in :

I'd be interested if you have working the apache with an SSL certificate. I'm still stuck on that...
