I've installed 1.4.16 which has Apache 2.0.54(Win32), MySQL 4.1.14, PHP 5.0.5, phpMyAdmin 2.6.4-pl1. Man this is one simple, elegant package. Good work folks!
I have a Dell 4600 3GHz P4 with 1 GB RAM running XP Pro.
Apache, MySQL and FileZilla are installed as services.
http://localhost correctly brings up the XAMPP intro page. Clicking on English (in my case
calls up the main XAMPP example/doc/etc page.
Running test.php with phpinfo () works just fine. Seems reasonable fast (about 2-3 seconds to load)
Clicking on teh phpMyAdmin link from the main XAMPP page takes about 1 minute to load. All links within phpMyAdmin take a similar time. I then installed phpNuke. Pretty much everything within that takes about 1 minute to load as well.
I'm guessing it has something to do with MySQL, but I don't know enough about this to figure it out on my own yet. Can any of you smart guys/gals out there help me?
