i have installed thsi great program you have on my linux machine but i installed it to look at how a webhost works and to help me with php. the php thing works great but thee problem for me is the webhost thing because i am useing xpanel and it asks me to put some files in the cgi-bin in the main web directory so i made a file in htdocs called cgi-bin and i put the files in there but when i went to the file that it asks me to go to in my browser it gives a 404 error so i try to go to the cgi-bin foldr but i get 401 forbidion so i get a script i have used befpr on my site and i tr that but i get 404 again i check to make sure that i got the url right a few times and all the files in there i even dleted my index.php so i could see the file list and check if the cgi bin folder was there which it was.

i havent got a clue as to what to do so if you have an idea it would help me alot

thanks

so i made a file in htdocs called cgi-bin

There is allready a "cgi-bin" folder in "/opt/lampp" with the URI "http://localhost/cgi-bin/" (a ScriptAlias in httpd.conf).
