One step further

Problems with the Windows version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

One step further

Postby pzi » 04. August 2005 18:37

Thanks to the answers to my previous questions, I have won the battle with Panda Antivirus, and started to install XAMPP.

As directed, I ran "setup_xampp.bat", which appeared to complete successfully.

But when I run ".....\apache_installservice.bat" (yes, I am using Windows XP Professional), I get the following error message:

"<OS 10048> Only one usage of each socket address <protocol/network address/port> is normally permitted. : make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:443, no listening sockets available, shutting down.

Unable to open logs."

Again, any assistance will be appreciated!

Apache is working with "apache_start.bat"?

BTW:
Apache should not started while installing the service.

Still no joy!

I deleted everything and started over.

I decompressed the file xampp-win32-1.4.14.zip into E:\Program Files\xampp.

I clicked on setup_xampp.bat, and checked using Notepad to see that ...\apache\conf\httpd.conf had been duly modified.

I clicked on ...\apache\apache_installservice.bat.

I get the error message described in my last posting. What step am I missing? What must I change? Basically, what do I do next to get XAMPP installed?

Thank you again!
