xampp and perl problems

I have read over all the posts on the problem with the perl add-on.

I had install modPerl. With that, I can run the examples, but I don't seem to be successful running Bugzilla which I am trying to set up.

I loaded ActivePerl and was able to run ppm and download the modules I needed. From the command line I was able to run PPM and do the checksetup.pl routine.

I have gone into the httpd.conf file and added the scriptInterpreter Strict command so that it would find the AP version of Perl.

When I uninstall modPerl, could anyone please tell me how I tell Apache where the perl executable is....
