phpMyAdmin

Problems with the Windows version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

phpMyAdmin

Postby jami » 15. July 2005 14:27

Hi,

I have two issues I'd like to resolve.

1) I'm unable to view any information when I've logged into phpMyadmin.
The left column with the home, exit, sql, help button and the database drop down menu appears but the main frame where you visualise the info constantly gives me, page cannot be displayed.

I've searched through the forum but to no avail.

Can anyone help on this???

2) I'm unable to create a database in mySQL via phpMyadmin.

Are there any parametres I can change in the 'config.inc.php' file to help me out here?

Many thanks,
jami

1/2. can you pls show us your config.inc.php? especially the following:

$cfg['PmaAbsoluteUri']
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['auth_type']
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['user']

More info will be much helpful....

And if you can post your screencapture will be useful too.

Hope it helps

Hi,

Here's the config.inc.php.

* case sensitive on some Web servers, for example Unix-based servers.
*
* In most cases you can leave this variable empty, as the correct value
* will be detected automatically. However, we recommend that you do
* test to see that the auto-detection code works in your system. A good
* test is to browse a table, then edit a row and save it. There will be
* an error message if phpMyAdmin cannot auto-detect the correct value.

I'll update soon with a screen capture of the phpmyadmin page. Basically, the left colums/frame shows up but not the centre of the page. So, you can't view or make changes.

Thanks,

you can add the value of $cfg['PmaAbsoluteUri']

$cfg['PmaAbsoluteUri'] = '<you phpmyadmin site name here, e.g. localhost:8085/phpmyadmin>'

Coz you haven't add it, this setting is at the top few lines of your config.inc.php....

Hope it helps.

Hi,

It doesn't make any difference.
Basically, when you log into www.yourdomain.com/phpmyadmin, I can access it but to get the welcome screen, with the different options to change the privileges, databases, logout etc, I have to refresh the page about 10 times. if I don't do this, I only get the header part with MySQL and create a new database.

Any other ideas?

Thanks
jami
