PEAR Hell

Postby freedom » 30. May 2005 16:33

I've blown an entire weekend and made countless posts on several forums concerning this badboy. I could've sworn I even made a post here, but I must've hit preview and didn't follow through.

Can anyone plz give me a quick primer on how to use PEAR. I'm using XAMPP 1.4 on winME and I don't know anything about how to use it. I don't even know how to tell if it's already installed or not, using the batch files only lead me down a road of install errors and more confusion.

To any who use it seamlessly, plz share your magic with me on how you install/use it. :)

I'd like to try out the Liveuser package.

PEAR is default installed and ready to be used in XAMPP...

Since PEAR is a large package of extensions, it means when you want specific function, you can search in PEAR to see if it has one...

e.g. I wan to access a DB, but don't like the function in PHP, you can find if there is a package for accessing a DB in PEAR package, and there is a user manual on how to use it...

Hope it helps...
