I'm about to install the windows beta x64 professional OS for my amd 64 athlon laptop. anybody know if xampp will run on it. i think it should but just wanted to ask?

I tried that and yes xampp runs on it but seriously, it didn't run all that well so I switched back to 32 bit 2 days later and have much better results with a 32 bit OS on a 64 bit machine. In fact, Server 2003 is the best way to go if you can. It may work better for you though, just my personal experience is all. Good luck! :)

Will there be an x64 version? If yes, I'd volunteer for testing. Perhaps I can help with coding, too. But I wouldn't bet the stability of that verion on it. ;)

Ar... Actually, why is that problem? I just though if 64bits will run more faster, and XAMPP is just a bundled programs...

Actually it looks like you can make apache 64 bit yourself but it looks like a lot of work. Read this if you're interested. http://publicidad.buscar.com/manual/64-bit.html
