I know xampp don't support Sybase and Oracle, but....

Problems with the Solaris version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

I know xampp don't support Sybase and Oracle, but....

Postby calvinscy » 10. June 2005 01:30

I am new to PHP, Xampp is the first choise of mine to startup. This is simply because it is recommended by everyone, and it is the most easy way to install Apache, PHP and MySQL.

Ok now is the situation: Apache, PHP and MySql as expected easy to install and easy to startup... But most of my clients on Solaris System use either Sybase and Oracle. Somehow other than using MySQL, I need to communicate with Sybase and Oracle.

I know xampp not support Sybase and Oracle, but after install xampp is there anyway I can link to Sybase or Oracle manually?

Thank you.

Apache and PHP recompile?

Postby calvinscy » 17. June 2005 08:08

When you say recompile, is it mean "Make", "Make install" those procedures... or you mean using visual studio for recompile?

Many thanks.

In which folder perform recompile

Postby calvinscy » 20. June 2005 07:54

Today I try to recompile apache to connect Sybase. Question:

1. Where to perform the "Configure" & "Make" commands? I do it in \opt\xampp.
2. When I type ".\congfigure --with-sybase=\export\home\sybase", it give error message "file not found". :?
3. After compile how to check sybase is linked?

Thanks.

Cool, Thanks for the guide, Kris, I can make it.
But for Calvinscy make sure that you don't set up in the wrong path.
