In Need of Serious Help

Postby HaTeBreeD » 01. June 2005 21:19

Hello,

I am having some major problems with people trying to connect to my web server I am hosting thru XAMPP Light. I insta;;ed the program as directed by the ReadMe, I forwarded the ports correctly, ( I do know how to forwarded them fine, I run game servers) as well as forwarding them in the Windows Firewall. I asked my freind to connect to my External IP, and the page will not display for him. I can access it perfectly from inside the Network, just any person from the outside can't. I know for a fact I forwarded eveything properly, and just for the heck of it, I disabled the windows firewall AS WELL AS the Router securtiy on this PC only, yet still it will not work. I am seriouly getting tired of doing this. If you have something that might help me, please do.

I have a Cable Connection Thru a company called Cox Communications
I have WindowsXP Pro with SP2
And I have a Linksys Cable/DSL Router '

But not on Port 80? e.g. Cox in Nevada will definitely block this port. There is also a difference between home and business accounts.

BTW:
You know part 6 from the AUP (home accounts)?
# Servers. You may not operate, or allow others to operate, servers of any type or any other device, equipment, and/or software providing server-like functionality in connection with the Service, unless expressly authorized by Cox.

Do they restrict server operation?
It is very interesting.to me.
The ISP doing such conservative policy often goes bankrupt.
