Help with getting images / gif's to display

I am new to Xampp. Installed to c:/apachefriends/xampp ... vs c:/xampp, but conf file seems to all be correct. I am able to get my main page to display, but no images / gif's are displaying. I've searched for hours, have seen some things to try, but nothing working yet. Any ideas? Thanks.

You may solve it by checking,

IE ==> Internet Option ==> Advance ==> Multimedia ==> Image checked.

The settings are o.k. in IE, gifs display fine, only through my Apache site do they not. jpg's show up, but gifs do not. Mime type seems to be set to properly display gif's. I'm at a lost. Any more ideas are greatly appreciated. For example, your profile gif displays correctly on my computer, very nice looking might I add.
