PLEASE HELP! How can i stop the old daemons?

Very good experience so far with this product. Thank you!

However after install I have problems with starting the lampp

I installed the XAMPP on server which already is running apache/mysql php... and I can not stop them all. I think I could only stop mysqld using killall.
But killall httpd obviously is not stoppig the apache!

this is what I got:

# /opt/lampp/lampp start
Starting XAMPP for Linux 1.4.11...
XAMPP: An Apache daemon with SSL is already running.
XAMPP: Starting MySQL...
XAMPP: A FTP daemon is already running.
XAMPP for Linux started.


Please help me! I need to find out how to stop the old daemons before I start LAMPP.

Hi yanko!

Okay, let us first find out what process uses the ssl port and makes XAMPP not to start. Please call the following command:

lsof | egrep :https

And post the output of the command here.

And thank you for the good work.

I dont know how they did it bit I called the hosting company to do it...


I do understand its important to show the problem and solution here if someone need it in the future. But unfortunately I cant be in help. They just stped the old daemons and lampp started with no problems!
