I have a number of virtual domains configured as I host several sites for myself and clients. All was working just fine until about 6 weeks ago. Since then, for no apparent reason the webserver just stops serving pages. The browsers still show that the site was found, but the site eventually times out. Same for all of the sites that I have configured, and I get the same thing if I try to browse from the local browser itself to the http://localhost or any of the virtual domains that are here.
The only thing that does any good is stopping and starting the Apache server. Using the restart button doesn't work all the time.
I'm at a loss to know what caused this, and how to fix it.
I've tried the same websites with older versions of XAMPP, and even installed and configured FoxServ but that was more trouble that it was ever going to fix.
I'm guessing that there is a corrupt PHP file somewhere, that when it gets accessed, causes the Apache server to stall, even thought the system doesn't see to think that it's fallen over. I have the Win32 service configured for auto-restart should something try to kill it, but I don't think that it's the problem, as the service doesn't fall over.
Any help would be appreciated.
