Oracle support in Solaris?

Postby jsloey » 26. October 2004 20:25

Can I enable the PHP Oracle extension on Solaris?
The FAQ link says /opt/lampp/lampp oci8
Using "/opt/xampp/xampp oci8" does not work.
Thanks

Hi,

AFAIK, the solaris Version does not yet support oci.
Sorry, but since the Solaris Version is still ALPHA, we're still working at it.

Can you point me to a build directory or repository download so I can rebuild it with oracle support?
Thanks

Dear jsloey!

At the moment we are not able to provide our development environments to the public. It's to big. In the case of Linux it is 1.6 GB, and in the case of Solaris it's about 700 MB.

If you're going to compile PHP by yourself I think it's the best to compile it seperately from XAMPP. It is much easier since there are many documentation out there how to compile PHP. Esp. in the case of XAMPP for Solaris it's really much easier.

Many greetings
