PHPMyAdmin Cannot Connect

Postby Coastalguy » 23. August 2020 00:50

When I try to open PHPMyAdmin using localhost/phpmyadmin, I get a cannot connect error:

phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.

I have moved all of the documents and databases to another location, by virtue of changing the datadir and DocumentRoot configurations, which I understand changes the localhost location. What I do not know is whether there is some other configuration to access the phpmyadmin where it current is under the original install location, or whether I have to move the entire phpmyadmin folder from the installed location to my new location changed with the documentroot change? Or possibly some other way??
