How to change the root password

Well i have read it but not being very computer literate, could someone please tell me (slowley) how to change the mysql "root" password in basic english please . Cheers IMHO.

I belive that if you read the readme_en.txt that came with the latest build of xampp for windows you would know this, as it explains it in "basic english"
Also the Mysql manual is great reading
