XAMPP for Windows 64bit

Postby Beltran » 27. February 2019 12:54

Hi,

We are happy to announce that XAMPP provides full 64-bit support for Windows since versions 5.6.40 / 7.1.26 / 7.2.15 / 7.3.2.

Previous versions of XAMPP includes 32bit binaries that are also compatible with Windows 64bit but there are features you can only use if you use the 64bit binaries E.g. PHP support native 64-bit integers, LFS, 64-bit memory_limit and much more.

This one of the most requested features for XAMPP for Windows, I hope this is useful!

Please post if you find any issues or you have any suggestions for future versions.

Das wird ganz sicher einige Telnehmer sehr freuen, einfach so aus heiterem Himmel die lang ersehnte Windows 64bit Version?! Bedeutet das gleichzeitig das Ende der 32bit Version (wie bei Linux)?

This will certainly please some participants, just out of the blue the long awaited Windows 64bit version?! Does this also mean the end of the 32bit version (as for Linux)?

Correct, that is a major change and it has been required to modify all the components that are included in the installer. We do not plan to continue providing new versions of the 32bit binaries but we are open to provide them again if there are users interested on it.
