XAMPP downloaded, but doesn't install

As I am commencing a wordpress course, this morning I downloaded XAMPP. The download was succesful. I can click on the XAMPP image disk and then access the control panel. However, when I click or double click the installation wizard doesn't open and I cannot find any way to intall XAMPP. Also, I cannot drag the image to the applications folder.

Does anyone know how to fix this so I can intall XAMPP??

Just an addition to my previous post: this morning XAMPP has dissappeared completely from my computer.

And good to know: my computer is an Imac.
