need to upgrade to php 7.1.7 minimum

Currently running XAMPP with apache 2.4.25, php7.1.6, and OpenSSL 1.0.2j need to upgrade to apache 2.4.27, php 7.1.7, and OpenSSL 1.1.0e. Downloaded latest XAMPP with apache 2.4.27, php 7.1.9, and OpenSSL 1.0.2j. is there a straight install/upgrade path for XAMPP? If not, is there a way to just upgrade the individual components I need?

  • Backup your custom scripts (file copy), setting changes (file copy), Database (export) and Database users
  • do a second backup of your full current working xampp folder
  • uninstall/remove xampp completely (including windows services if set any)
  • install the new fresh xampp version
  • restore/import all your custom scripts, databases, etc, pp.
  • if done any custom setting changes check them one by one if they are needed to be set to the new installation too.
Changing the XAMPP version or a core single component version does always mean migrate to a new fresh installation.
There is NO upgrade functionality. NEVER install a new XAMPP version over another.
