How to add a component on partial installation

Postby Alkis » 29. May 2017 10:11

E.g. I want to add FileZilla server and Perl, which I had excluded when I first installed XAMPP 5.6.30.
When I re-run the installer and selected these tw components, I selected the folder of the already installed XAMPP. I was immediately refused because the folder was not empty. Of course. But then, how can one add a component to an already existing installation?

Hi,

Simple answer: you can't.
The installer is only able to do fresh installations, no updates or additions.

Best wishes,

Thank you for replying. You must be a special person!
But then, you only repeated what I said, with other words. That is, the installer can't do that. :)

Means: if you need to add a previously not installed single component the only two possibilities are either installing and configurating it on your own with the normal installer of these component, or uninstalling and reinstalling XAMPP completely.
