How to change PHP configurations and rebuild PHP

Hello,
I installed the new XAMPP with PHP 7.0 in Ubuntu 14.04 . I need to use php threads but the PHP configurations didn't had –-enable-maintainer-zts . I changed the /opt/lampp/lib/php-config (php-config-7.0.0) to have –-enable-maintainer-zts in the configuration. Now I have no idea how to rebuild PHP with the new configurations . ./configure doesn't work in any folder. Thank you in advance for your responses and a happy new year.
