No longer able to run files in htdocs folder

Hi. I have been using xampp server for a couple months without any problems.
I recently (last 24 hrs) ran into a problem with xampp server.
whenever I try to run files from htdocs folder I get an error message, as follows:

Object not found!

The requested URL was not found on this server. If you entered the URL manually please check your spelling and try again.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

Error 404

Apache/2.4.10 (Win32) OpenSSL/1.0.1h PHP/5.4.31

I have done the following to try to remedy the problem:
stop and restart apache and mysql via the xampp control panel.
I have tried to run the files in different browsers and get same error.
I have cleared browsers histories, cookies etc.
I have shutdown and restarted my computer.

To the best of my knowledge I have made no changes to the conf file.
I have made no recent changes to the php ini file.
below I will include apache error log from the point where I believe the trouble began.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

As one can see, you are messing around with different pathes (sometimes "Select", sometimes "Ken's store", sometimes "kensStore", sometimes "shop_bows.php", sometimes "shope_home.php") - that looks like as if you have no clue about your own files?! Unfortunately you neither told us, where the files actually are stored, which are the file names and last not least, what you entered into the browser?! Therefore its quite impossible to give any further advice.

We also need to know the access_log, as this gives more information about all these requests.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to consider my post.

I can see why it would look as if I have no clue about my own files.
As a matter of fact, I do have a clue. I do know the exact paths to the files.
When I started having problems accessing them I tried different files to establish that it was not just one corrupted file.
I was also trying different naming conventions to further eliminate access problem.
The files in question were in a sub folder in htdocs named tutorials and a two different sub folders within tutorials named Select and kensStore. I had changed the original sub folder name which was ken's store.
I had applied a custom icon to both of the sub folders and somehow this made them inaccessible.
I removed custom icon and solved the problem.

Not really - it may appear as if the icon is responsible for that behaviour, but honestly, this is impossible for simply icons. Icons cannot change any permissions or similar. Maybe there is a .htaccess file and the existence of an icon triggers a certain event or so in that .htaccess file, but this of course is a question of configuration. The icon and the icon only cannot change anything to your folders.

P.S.: I wonder about your profile, you applied Xampp Version 5.5.39 running under WindowsXP - that is impossible, as that Xampp version does not run under WindowsXP.

Sorry about the version misrepresentation.
The 5.5.39 is the version of mysql.
The Apache server version is 2.4.10.
This is clearly visible in the included error message.
I will take greater care in providing version info if I I need to start any new topics.

This is still not the correct XAMPP version.

The XAMPP version in your case must be 1.8.2.
Please correct this information in your board profile.
