Prevent SPAM. Files arent attachable for newcomers, but later on of course you can attach files.

no you can't. It's completely disabled in the board configuration.
But later on you can add links to files on foreign sites like 1-click image hosters.

Are you folks serious ???
Who is the administrator here ?

Adding files for better understanding of problems users of xampp are dealing with
is a must.

Currently I have a problem with the xampp dashboard right from the start of xampp
which i could explain way better with screenshots.

For days now I have already had so many difficulties to get xampp installed and going on windows 7 64,
meaning it still isn't running yet. Tried all sorts of advises from videos and other discussions,
nothing helped so far.

And if that wasn't enough i now find the support forum for apache e.i. xampp
doesn't allow attaching images in postings for helprequests.

The whole xampp project is robbing my entire patience.
A pain in the b..... !

yes

Bitnami administrates this board here, but AFAIk adding files here was disabled from the beginning here (at least at the time i registered here).

It's not. We solved already sooo many problems without providing adding files here. There are always ways to come around that, like 1-click image hosters, code hosters, etc. If a helper is of the opinion that it is strictly needed to view an untouched file it is always possible that he send you his email to add it as mail attachment.

Text in Screenshots is not indexable so noone can search for it. Noone having the same problem would be able to find your thread with help of the board search if your information is only available in a screenshot.

Well, you don't tell us anything about the problem, so nobody is able to analyse and gicing advise how to solve it.

what else ?

Quite a few minds on youtube already commend :

If you're not an expert or free lancer in programming you better ditch and forget xampp,
and go for something else :?

Hardly anybody without routined coding skills ever achieves to install and run xampp with its applications at the first attempt or at all.

I certainly cannot recommend xampp at all !

real srry.

Use something else. It's a free world.
I have made the exact opposite experience.

XAMPP is very easy to install and get running, especially for beginners without any skills.

You dont need to be "real sorry". It is your opinion and thats ok. You dont hurt anybody. So if it is easier for you to install Apache, MySQL, PHP and Perl separately and configure them to work properly, go that way. This is not a hard job for experts like you are.
