Impossible to install joomla

Postby JujuLand » 03. October 2016 14:58

Hi,

First I'm a newbee, so be cool ;)

I have installed Xampp 7.0.9.1 (downloaded on Bitnami website) under Xubuntu 14.04 ( I installed also core)
No particular problem, it has been installed.
Now I want to install the bitnami joomla package, but I failed

I first keep lampp-manager opened.
I don't know if it was the reason, but when trying to continue on path page (/opt/lampp), the buttons where greyed, and nothing was possible except to cancel the install

I then close the manager, and tried again.
I was then able to continue after path page, but it fails to create account. It always give the message that the MySql passord was wrong.
I saw somewhere that at the beginning the password was empty
So I tried to modify the password using the manager. I edited the conf file, changed the password and restart all
The MySql password is always refused.

Where do I fail ?

Thanks
A+

i would not install Joomla from Bitnami, instead download the original Joomla package from Joomla and run the standard Joomla install on your localhost.
