How to I recompile PHP within Xampp

Postby captain_luc » 21. March 2016 14:02

I need the option --enable-sysvmsg in PHP to use the semaphores. So I believe I need to re-compile PHP.
I downloaded 5.6.19 from php-net, but I am wondering if I am o the right track. I would expect there is a simple way to recompile the php version that comes with XAMPP with an extra option?

Thank you

Simple answer: Without the development package you can't recompile PHP for XAMPP.
Bitnami don't release any development packages for XAMPP releases.
We don't provide any support via personal channels like PM, email, Skype, TeamViewer!

First of all, "System V Semaphores" are restricted to Linux / Posix Systems, there is no SysV under Windows. You cannot use System V functions in a WIndows PHP environment.

At next, as Altrea already said, Bitnami does not deliver any development packages, therefore you cannot compile PHP on yourself. If you need your own "special" version of PHP, you should take any linux server distribution (for example Ubuntu Server Edition) and compile your own binarys out of the system repositories, do not use Xampp instead. Only in such an environment you will be successfull to build your own version of PHP etc.
