Cannot stop/start Apache after Bitnami WP Installation

Postby jahodson3 » 02. March 2016 22:23

My XAMPP install was working great. I could start/stop both Apache & MariaDB. I could get into phpMyAdmin. And then...

I installed WordPress using the Bitnami installer. The installation went great, and I was able to view my WP installation at /localhost/wordpress. Everything looked great until I tried to stop MariaDB and Apache using the XAMPP Control Panel. MariaDB stopped with no problem, but Apache repeatedly threw an error trying to shutdown. So I "Quit" the Control Panel which stopped Apache. Now when I try to restart Apache I am getting an error:

4:07:46 PM [Apache] Attempting to start Apache app...
4:07:46 PM [Apache] Status change detected: running
4:07:47 PM [Apache] Status change detected: stopped
4:07:47 PM [Apache] Error: Apache shutdown unexpectedly.
4:07:47 PM [Apache] This may be due to a blocked port, missing dependencies,
4:07:47 PM [Apache] improper privileges, a crash, or a shutdown by another method.
4:07:47 PM [Apache] Press the Logs button to view error logs and check
4:07:47 PM [Apache] the Windows Event Viewer for more clues
4:07:47 PM [Apache] If you need more help, copy and post this
4:07:47 PM [Apache] entire log window on the forums

Ideas? I am running a new Dell XPS 15 and Windows 10. I checked Services in Control Panel and IIS (World Wide Web Services) is not running.

Please execute the apache_start.bat script by doubleclick and report what this script outputs.

Well, I rebooted my machine... And now I can start/stop Apache without errors. Strange. Didn't change anything.

Thanks for the help.

C:/xampp/apache/conf/httpd.conf: Could not open configuration file C:/xamp/wordpress/conf/httpd-prefix.conf

C:/xamp/wordpress/conf/httpd-prefix.conf is missing a 'p' in "xampP"
