Xampp Installation issue

I am new to PHP and trying to set server on my system. The issues is when i go to browser and put localhost:8080 then it shows me dashboard instead 'Xampp to windows page'. So i go to Phpmyadmin page to set my 3 root passwords. But after setting my passwords, it shows me the following error

"phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server."

Also in my C drive there are no appache files installed. What to do ?

All XAMPP programs are wrapped by an folder, commonly named "xampp". But we cannot teach you how to install and find programs on your system.
