7.02 troubles

Postby thunderaeroi » 13. February 2016 16:19

Hello,

I am able to 'install' Xampp 7.01 (xampp-win32-7.0.1-0-VC14) without any problems, PHP works, PHPMYADMIN works, etc. However, no matter which 7.02 version I use I am unable to get the system to run. It appears that the PHP.ini file is entirely commented out. Is there a hotfix or something I should be looking for to make 7.02 work?

Thanks.

I recommend using the .ini from 7.01 and check the PHP documentation to see if there are any changes or security holes requiring configuration for 7.02.

Here is what I did:

Unpacked xampp-portable-win32-7.0.2-0-VC14, then unpacked xampp-portable-win32-7.0.2-1-VC14 overwriting any files, I then copied the PHP.ini file from xampp-win32-7.0.1-0-VC14 and everything appears to work fine. I have not done much testing; however, pages load and PHPMyAdmin seems to work just fine.

Why would they release 7.02 with a broken PHP.ini file. Even the Development and Production ini files are commented.

Thanks.

Only the .zip and .7z versions seem to be affected, the portable and full installer versions seem to work correct.
So i guess their testing mechanisms haven't worked for these versions.

I have reported this to the XAMPP developers so they can fix this issue.
