Unable to access Xampp admin panel (Object not found!)

Postby DFORMS » 13. December 2015 23:14

Hi guys,

First time using Xampp. I installed Xampp and everything seemed OK but I'm unable to access the admin panel (this page):

The default page when I try accessing the admin panel is this one:

When I try manually inputting the admin panel URL I get this error:

I have Wamp installed but it isn't running when using Xampp so it shouldn't have an impact no? I've experienced the same issue for both my Win7 and Win10 PCs.

Thank you for your help!

This old orange administration page has been replaced with the new dashboard.
The old code was unmaintained, buggy, insecure and screwed up several XAMPP installations. This is especially true for the security functions.
We don't provide any support via personal channels like PM, email, Skype, TeamViewer!

It's like porn for programmers 8)

In the mean time, the Bitnami FAQ has been adapted and updated. There is NO hint to localhost/xampp or localhost/security anymore. Instead, the dashboard has been introduced. The "xampp admin panel" has gone definately and is history only. There is no link and no button, which applies to that "admin panel".

Therefore i wont answer to this outdated questions anymore.

Ah, I see. OK thank you for the information. Maybe they should update the video on their front page then... kinda misleading.

Yes, surely, write a report to Bitnami, they will be happy for any help. I dont know this video, but if it is outdated, it has to be replaced.

Not true. From the dashboard, click FAQs. Click "Is XAMPP production ready?" Scroll down just a bit and you'll see:

If you want have your XAMPP accessible from the internet, you should go to the following URI which can fix some problems:

http://localhost/security/

NOTE: Above was directly copied and pasted from a fresh XAMPP installation - version 5.6.14.

If you've answered this question before, a link to the post with the answer might have been nice rather than making a false claim (see above) and then declaring you "won't answer to this outdated questions anymore." ...... just saying.
